Today is the second day of a two day Winter Die Release Celebration, and I hope you enjoy the inspiration! All of the new dies you see on our celebration posts yesterday and today are available now on the Impression Obsession website.
The first project I am sharing today is a no-sew ornament that features Small Snowman (DIE899-Q). I cut the snowman and all of his accessories from felt. I used the largest Scalloped Stitched Circle (DIE831-YY) to cut a base layer in black felt to give him a base to sit on, and topped it with a Wacky Stitched Circle (DIE837-YY) cut from a country blue acrylic felt.
I added a snowdrift by cutting another Wacky Stitched Circle, and cutting a top edge with the gentle rolling wave die from Wave Edges (DIE838-V). The pieces are all adhered together with just thin lines of white glue. It doesn’t take much! You don’t want the glue pressing through the felt, but there needs to be enough there to hold the felt in place.

Tip: Wool felt, or wool-blend felt works the best when cutting with thin metal dies. However, you can use acrylic felt if you place a piece of paper between the felt and the cutting pad to keep the fibers of the acrylic felt from pushing down into your cutting plate during the cutting process. This entire project, with exception of the carrot nose, is made from acrylic felt. The nose is cut from wool felt, only because that’s the felt I have in the color orange.
This would make a great gift for neighbor, tag on a package, tree ornament, or even a cute little decor item hung from the knob of a china hutch or wardrobe.

Speaking of tags, the next project I’m sharing features Plaid Tag (DIE868-Z), one of the mugs from Coffee & Cocoa (DIE882-V), the heart from Sewing Accessories (DIE871-Z), and a button from Button Card (DIE853-V). To create the tag, I die cut the base layer of the tag from heavyweight white cardstock and some cute pink gingham cardstock and adhered them together. I cut the embossed layer of the tag from some sweet daisy designer paper and adhered it to the top of the tag. I cut the little button and the mug from Kraft cardstock, and colored the coffee/tea area with a brown marker.

The heart is cut from watercolor paper. I inked the edges of all the bits with a warm, brown ink, and adhered the layers all together, and topped the tag with some pretty ribbon and a twine bow.
