The Impression Obsession design team is featuring dies as the main focus for our inspiration projects today. On this card I used Funky Floral Frame (DIE801-YY) and one of the small flowers from the Stitched Flower Bouquet (DIE806-ZZ). I die cut the Funky Floral Frame from heavy weight cream card stock, inked it with various brown inks, and stamped it with Beauty Text (CC142) for a bit of texture. Then I ran the die through the die cutting machine with heavy weight watercolor paper, knowing that it wouldn’t cut through, but would just emboss the die into the paper. I watercolored the embossed design, and adhered the inked brown die cut piece over top of the painted watercolor layer. I ran the card through my die cutting machine without any dies, so the brown die cut layer is pressed into the watercolor paper, making the entire card feel almost like it’s one piece of paper. Finally, I adhered a small gold flower and blue button to the card for embellishment.
