If you're in need of a little techie help with your indoor gardening, here's something to consider! I am a routine oriented person and seem to live my life via reminders on my calendar. Not to mention my memory is crap, so I have to write things down. I went looking for an easy way to get reminded to water various houseplants, and found a super easy to use app for just that! (No affiliation-just a happy user.)
Here is what the app looks like on the App Store. It's called WaterMe - Plant Watering Reminders, and it's free.
The interface is super easy to use, clean and simple. Once you have the app installed, touch the + sign to add each plant as a separate item in your list. You can add photos of your own plants (which I love, so I know exactly which plant each entry is for) give it a name, and determine how many days between reminders you want for the plant. Touch "Done" when you're finished entering information, and the app adds the item to your list.
Here is what the list of plants looks like after you've made your entries. Touch the "i" icon if you want to edit an entry.
In addition to the plant name, I've added the kind of light the plant likes, as well as some reminders for plant care. Some plants like to have evenly moist soil, while others like to dry out a bit (or a lot!) before their next watering, or respond better to a certain fertilizer schedule. Adding these kinds of care reminders will help me with each plant's preferred kind of care.
Perhaps this kind of reminder system will be helpful for you as well? In this house, a reminded plant owner makes for happy plants! *grin*

That is a great app! Thanks so much for sharing this find with us. :D

Ha, yes, watering is a memory problem for me as well. I don't have inside plants and the outside plants are hooked up to timers. If it weren't for technology how would we ever get through life. :-)
