We got a bit of snow last night, so it was extra beautiful this morning as I went about doing the morning chores. It's always quiet at the coop first thing in the morning, especially when it's below freezing. I always find it amazing, like today, just how crystal blue the sky can be in the winter after a snow storm. And I really love when the sun is shining and it's so cold the snow casts a bajillion glimmering sparkles everywhere you look.
Of course, as soon as the goats knew I was out and about, they were bellyaching for grain. They don't get grain every day, which is probably why they do more than their fair share of complaining. But they do get plenty of top notch hay, and just about anything else two goats need.
Days start early around here, that's for sure. After the chores are done, it's time for coffee and emails. Yeehaaaw!

What a cute coop! And so fun to see the goats again. I'll leave the snow to y'all--it's pretty but I don't like the cold :)

I am wondering if you have ever thought of doing egg art. I started doing egg art back in the early '70's, with real egg shells. There are some people that do incredible work that is unbelievable with all kinds of eggs. Google egg art if you are not familiar with this kind of art. also, I do not know if you sell any of your eggs but a lot of egg artist look for large eggs for their art. You can contact me if you are interested and I will try to put you in touch with some of the artist.

I really enjoyed your photos today. Looks like a beautiful day ahead. I am in Florida and it is still hot. Old man winter seems to have passed us by this year. We will probably get hit hard come Jan. and Feb.

I think I'll take your phrase 'sledding party down the hill past the hen house' and turn it into a country Christmas song!
Love the coop...it's more like a coop de ville!
Merry Christmas Anna!

It is nice to see your snow and know you actually enjoy it! I do not so much. :( It has been a very mild Dec. here. The 8 inch snow we got in Nov. Melted in 2 days. None since. A green Christmas this year. (o.k. by me but kids are sad.) The coop is so pretty with the holiday decorations. Goats look happy, too. As much as I like your crafty posts I had been missing the animal antics. ;)
