I love these little Calliope hummingbirds! Did you know, they are the smallest bird in North America?!
We have several that visit the feeders throughout the day and evening.
I think their fushia pink feathers are just amazing. And the males make the best noises during their high-flying courtship maneuvers.
My neighbor and I both saw a black-chinned hummingbird the other day, but I didn't have my camera. Another common one here is the Rufous. Maybe you're enjoying little visitors around your house, too?

I only see hummingbirds as "fly-by's" around here. I never seem to have my camera handy. This one is adorable.

My daughter has 2 little ones and has put a feeder outside their front door. They get so excited when they come to feed and my daughter has actually stepped out on the porch to take pictures and they seem not to care that she is so close. They will zoom by her head without a care in the world. Her boys love it!!

The ruby throat hummers are back and I'm sure more will follow. I love the little birds so much :)

I put the feeders out when you posted the 1st hummingbird. The very next day I saw one at the feeder. :) I hope he brought some friends. Since then it has been cool and wet and I have not seen much action ta nay feeders. I love that you have more species. We only see the Rubythroats.

Great shots of the little speedsters! They fly around like little fighter jets. Love, Dad

We have rufous and Anna's, but the Anna's have been the most plentiful this year. My husband gave me a feeder that suctions to glass for Christmas, and it has made viewing the hummers much easier! (But my photos of them are never as good as yours!)
