I am hosting this week's Mix-Ability Challenge in the challenge forum at SplitCoastStampers! The challenge is called Pick a Color, Any Color! (Mix104) The challenge calls for you to create a monochromatic project, using the color of your choice.
To create my card, I created a watercolor wash on 140lb watercolor paper, stamped Gertie (unknown manufacturer) in black StazOn ink, and further enhanced the image with alcohol markers and more watercolor wash techniques. I added a fun black frame using the Impression Obsession Rectangles 6-in-1 die set, and finally added a glittery puffy heart in honor of the upcoming Valentine holiday.
The idea behind the Mix-Ability Challenge is to make mixed media simple and approachable, and to let you experiment using things you already have. Each Friday a new challenge is hosted, but there is no time limit, so you can participate whenever you'd like on each challenge. Join us, won't you!?
Supplies
Stamp: Unknown Company
Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Distress Inks
Paper: Fabriano 100% Cotton Cold Press Watercolor paper, Paper Accents
Other: Niji Waterbrush

Hi!
We do have the farm in Texas, but Im at the house in Washington. Alan is still in Texas on the farm, until late spring. :)
We plan to move him up here and perhaps use the farm as a rental property.
Ive added a new category to the blog called Life in the Woods.

Sorry if this has nothing to do with your post but I was wondering, do you no longer have your farm with all the animals and gardens??? Living out here in Los Angeles I looked forward to your stories about your farm and gardening life. Congratulations on your new home.

I swear we have an old sepia tone family photo that looks just like that! Maybe great Grandma sitting on her stoop with the chickens! Great look. Fun frame.

Even tho I can't draw two circles, you show that I could stamp my way to a nice watercolor look anyway! Way fun image!
