Thought I'd give you a peek at the harvest 2012 list, as of today. This doesn't count the spinach, kale, collards, beet greens, chard, radish, onion, and tomatoes...
Tomorrow I will be canning relish, cutting up zucchini for candy recipies, and juicing fresh cucumbers for breakfast!
The tomatoes are just starting to ripen, and they are delish! Cherokee Purple tomatoes have been the top "large" tomato performer for us this year. The small Juliet and Sweet 100s are coming on strong, though too!
Some of the garden beds are "done" producing for the spring/summer crop. The bugs did the last of the plants in -- mostly the spinach, kale, collards, and such. But, we're going to add more boards to the raised beds, add more soil and compost, and I'll get the beds ready for fall planting. All will be good.
In the "new" garden space, the plants are just starting to flower. We've got canteloupe, watermelon, more zucchini (hey, it grows for us, so we plant lots!), and some acorn squash, so hopefully they all do well.

You must really pour the water to the squash and zucchini to get such amazing yields! Great job! I love reading about the different types that you grow.

You may have to repost the candy recipe's for those that may not have picked up on it last time around. I find it very nice myself as an old fart that just likes jerky and corn nuts with a little Crown Royal to soak the corn nuts in. It's a good sippin whiskey. I have huckleberry bounce later in the year.(sept.& Oct.)......Love, Dad

HUGE harvest of zucchini -- do you ever sell it? What is zucchini candy? Do you have a recipe? What is "8 ball" zucchini? I frequently wish I had the time and skill to can -- but we gave up our garden for wild animals and I never really got the rhythm of it anyway. (City girl) I'm kinda jealous -- except I couldn't take the Texas heat, so reality sinks in and I just admire the heck out of you! :)

It's funny to read about your garden where here in NE Ohio we just planted a month ago (and that was early for us since we had such a mild winter/spring). So I am wondering - WHAT do you do with all that Zucchini - I love Zucchini and I'm just wonder what you do with that large of an amount!

Wow! Wow! WOW!! Your garden report is exciting to read! Really!! I'm impressed! And here I was happy to have spinach, herbs and some lavender to report so far. BUT...everything is growing and I found my first tomato forming. And...patty pan is growing well too. Watching daily for the first sign of one forming! *wink* Hope you'll continue to give your harvest reports as regularly as time allows. You are my inspiration!
P.S. How are "the girls" doing? Do you have egg count reports?
