Today is World Card Making Day (did you know there was such a thing!?), and I nearly missed it! I had intended on working on the long list of projects I have that need to be completed, but my day got sidetracked with errand after errand. But here it is 10:30pm, and I'm happy to be posting a project I finished today. I chose the color combination for my project from the current color challenge (TTCO2) being hosted on the Touch Twin Markers & More challenge blog. It was a perfect combination for my little cowboy snowman!
I used one of my FAVORITE stamps Rootin Tootin Snowman for the main image. The image is stamped in brown Memento ink and colored with markers. A bit of glitter was added for sparkle and shine. I used an ink blending tool to add distress ink around the edges, which I think really makes the snowman glow!
I used a sentiment from Got Mistletoe? and a snowflake from North Pole Post on the inside to dress things up a bit. I really needed the added layers on the inside to balance the weight of the card front. It was a bit front-heavy without them. The designer paper is from Memory Box.
The ribbon I chose to use on the front is an inexpensive wired ribbon from a big-box store (which one? good question!) I don't use wired ribbon very often, but I thought the added dimension it gave to this card was kind of fun. Plus, who doesn't love brown gingham?! A quick addition of button and twine top off the bow.
Let's see if I can finish another project tonight, in honor of World Card Making Day!

hahahaaha
I am so totally "sold" on this rootin' tootin' snowman! Fabby colors for this Cowboy Snowman! Yeeeeehaaaaaaaw!!

I have so often thought I could stamp almost exclusively with my Anna Wight designs and be perfectly happy. Maybe I'll have more time for that now. Love this one!

I think you need to draw the Wicked Witch in the TX landscape with the classic "I'm mellllllllllllllltinggggggggg" sentiment.

Good thing you're keeping this "rootin tootin" wrangler inside; otherwise he'd be a big rootin tootin puddle!! Love all your rustic touches on this fella, Anna, especially your rarely used brown wired gingham:) I just about turned my house upside down and tore my hair out the other night looking for the good 'n safe place I tucked my labels into!!! I eventually found them right where I had safely tucked them, but they were hiding and I didn't see them the first time around!!! It was a happy ending, but I think I did pop out a few grey hairs over it!! They are tucked under a fine color job tho'!!

Your rootin-tootin cowboy fella looks quite ready to welcome much cooler temps. Love the warm combination of colors you used for the distressing and shading. Love the wired gingham and great button too.

Hi Julie!
I used a bit of Antique Linen, then a little Vintage Photo and finally a smidgen of Walnut Ink -- all Distress Inks. Oh, and the base paper used for the stamped image is white. Well, it started out white, that is.... :)
Hope you had a fun World Card Making Day!
Cluck, cluck, and thanks for the note! :)
-Anna.

Awe!!! He's so cute & dapper, Anna! I'm sure you've shared this before, but, what's that yummy ink you use to sponge the edges on this gem?!
