I don't know about you, but I'm TIRED of having the sniffles, sneezes and coughs. I'm almost out of travel sized tissues, and we're nearly out of jumbo boxed sized tissues in the house, too!
Do you keep your travel sized tissues in a cozy? I usually just stuff tissues in a purse pocket, or jacket pocket, ...maybe when I get older I'll stuff them in my bra... But as I was walking out of my office this evening I saw these cute fabrics on my shelf, just begging to be stitched into something handy! I already had the sewing machine out, so what better time to make something cute?
I did a quick google search for "tissue cozy tutorial" and found oodles of links to check out! Here is the tutorial I followed....sort of. I changed the measurements of the pieces I used. I actually used a 6" square for the outer print, and an 8x6" rectangle for the inside print. I wanted my center stripes to be a bit wider, and the entire cozy to be a bit shorter in length. Other than those changes, I followed her instructions. She has a pretty cute Valentine "knock knock" joke included in her project, as well.
The low tonight is supposed to be in the 'teens'. Brrrr! Hope you're keepin' cozy!

Oh Anna, the hedgehogs! Leave it to you to think of making something cute to carry your Kleenex in! These are precious.

OMG ... I was almost too afraid to read your post after it came thru my email. "SWEET & SASSY - KLEENEX .." I thought, oh no, what happened on the farm that I'm going to need a kleenex for? You sure got my attention! Anyway, these little tissue cozies are adorable. Yet another talent you have!

These are really nice - love your fabric choices. With year around allergies, I'm never w/out kleenex. I actually dug out my machine & made a cute apron last weekend - so maybe this will be my next project. Hugs & Happy Weekend.

Where did it go? Lost apost, will try again.
I always have tissue in pockets (Then the washer and dryer!) I LOVE the hedgies , almost as much as dragonflies and moose. I also have a LARGE fabric stash. I will check out the tutorial. (But was hoping mabe you list some on your Etsy shop *hint*) Have a fabulous Friday, hugs...
p.s. Mom & Grandma always carried tissues up their sleeve :)

So cute! I LOVE your fabric, and the wider trim looks great! Thanks for linking to my tutorial. (and for your commenter hoping to make them for full-size tissues, I think that would work fine! To work out the size, try folding the fabric around the stack of tissues, like you're wrapping a present. And maybe overlap the openings a bit more to keep the tissues more secure)

Hi Anna. Thanks for sharing such a cute idea. I wonder if these would work for regular size kleenex. I'm not a seamstress, but if I manage to figure out the larger dimensions (It would be great to keep in the car since we always have large kleenex on hand to refill it.) I wonder if the opening in the top would be too large to stay closed? Any ideas? I'm thinking of filling it with about a 3/4 inch stack-not the whole box.

What a cute idea for valentines day. We've gone through our share of tissues this winter, and today we have a balmy 9 degrees this morning, brrr!

these are so cute! Sorry to hear it's going to be so cold there. We finally get to see temps above freezing and maybe even 40 by Sunday!!

That hedgehog fabric is just darling!
At least those would make you smile ever time you reach for a tissue, but I hope you can put them away soon.
