I was recently asked if I would like to participate in the 2011 A Muse Calendar Project, an annual fund raising event hosted by A Muse Art Stamps. This is my third year participating in the project, and I'm always delighted to be asked! Thanks A Muse! This year's calendar project supports Charley's Fund, a fund I know you'll find worthy of supporting. You will find more details on the 2011 calendar templates and this event, here.
I chose to make a simple fridge calendar that I can quickly and easily change out with the months. I chose to use the 4x4 calendar template (there are five templates to choose from this year). I adhered the calendar pages to cardstock, leaving the bottom of the calendar page free so I could jot notes on the cardstock behind the calendar sheet.
The calendar templates come with lots of space for customizing. I chose some of my favorite A Muse stamps to decorate each page (which wasn't an easy task, because I have LOTS of favorite A Muse stamps!)
I colored the images, and added lots of glitter for sparkle and shine.
I repurposed a piece of chipboard to create the base of the calendar, and covered it with patterened paper. I also repurposed the magnetic strip from a notepad I recently used the last page of, and adhered the magnet to the backside of the chipboard using sticky redline tape. I used a couple of pearl brads to hold all of the pages in place, making it easy to change the pages from month to month. It's on the fridge, and I love it!
A quick note about chipboard: I order sheets of postage stamps from USPS.com. Each sheet comes packaged with a piece of medium-weight chipboard, perfect for crafting! They're great for running through dye cut machines, for creating custom embellishments, or even for projects like this.

Oh, Anna! It's DARLING!!! I should make one for my fridge!!!

Very cute calendar idea and great way to recycle. We've been buying cereal at Costco in those bulk boxes and when the cereal is done that puppy is being trimmed of the tops and bottoms and go into my stash.

You mentioned recycling the chipboard, I save cereal box sides(Cheerios). The weight is perfect. Love your calendar perfect for the fridge. TFS Ann Lind

Clever idea to have the pages loose so you can write notes. Love the little ducks marching across the page.

Great little calendar. I like how the pages are free so you can write notes behind. You are always thinking! As I sit here in front of an open window I am thinking I will need a light jacket today.I will try to send some of this nice cool breeze your way :) Hugs...
