Tomorrow I'm flying up to northeastern Washington to spend 10 days with Mom and Dad. Last year's summer trip was a great time -- fishing, camping, river floating -- and I'm looking forward to the adventures we have this year!
Alan is staying home to take care of the farm, and he will be missed. Sooner or later, we'll be able to take a little vacation together. Since he's staying here at the farm, drop in here at the blog now and then and leave a note for him. He always reads my blog for any new posts and/or comments. He'll enjoy hearing from you!
As for me, I'll see what I can do about putting up a few posts while I'm away. Who knows... maybe I'll even get around to posting daily!
Hi Alan,
I just discovered your wife's blog. The animals always bring smiles to my me and my husband. I just love reading the little captions she inserts! Keep up the good work.
Take care.

Have a wonderful time, Anna. Looking forward to seeing photos.
Alan, I made Anna's peach jam yesterday. It is DELICIOUS! It is good to know that you can pull a jar of summertime gold from the pantry and enjoy it in Anna's absense. (I'm sure she's left you lots of yummy things, but I'm enjoying her recipe for the peach jam on my toast this morning so I was thinking of you too!)

Hi y'all! We picked her up at the airplane place and promptly went shopping! She is heading for her 20th High School reunion at this moment (in my car, shesh) I have it on good authority that we will be going to Georgetown Lake in Montana after all the hub bub settles down. Great moose watching, and fishing and at 6400 ft. it will not be anything like TEXAS HEAT. She brought one of her "special" cameras so I figure the slide show will be interesting. I truely wish that Alan, John and Sue could come on the trip too......... Love, Dad... more later.

Hey, Alan! How are you doing without your sweet Anna??? I'm sure you miss her! I know it's a lot harder taking care of everyone without her help...not to mention, it's hotter than blue blazes down there! I hope you have a dishpan you can put some ice water in, and put those feet in...that can cool a fellow off really fast! :D Hugs to all the critters...and you have a good weekend! Don't forget to pick the produce, too! :D

Hiya Alan! Take it easy in that Texas heat and make sure you take the chickens swimming while Anna's gone! :) I love the fact that you two keep this blog going. I find it highly entertaining and educational too!

Have a wonderful trip. I live on the west side of the Cascades, near Woodinville and spent a lot of time in my youth in Eastern Washington. Love it!

I always feel like your "in the neighborhood" when you visit your folks, even though you're a couple hours away. :) Have a glorious vacation and tell your parents hello. Do you suppose Alan will post a picture of your mom's quilt again like he did last time? :)

Have a fabulous time in Washington, Anna.
Alan - you'll be busy enough just lovin' that sweet kitty - what was it's name? The little boy kitten that snuggled while his sister was hunting!!
Thinking of you both!

Hi Alan!
Don't overdo it while Anna is gone. Save up all the housework for her. *snicker*
Stay cool.

Have a safe and wonderful trip. At least our weather up here in the Spokane area is cooler than in Texas, by about 20 degrees. I wish you were coming to Spokane. I would love to meet you sometime.

YIPPEE!!! I am SO happy you are getting out of the TX furnace! Whew, what a relief it will be for you; not to mention, the fun you will have with your folks!!!
Have a wonderful trip (with no airport drama) and I KNOW you'll enjoy every moment while there. I hope we hear from you occasionally! And I'll be sure to check on Alan (hoping he doesn't ROAST while you are away!)
Big Hugs, and SO happy for you!!! :D

We will check in on Alan! Yes, he must go too, very soon. Can his folks look after the farm sometime when he is gone? Seems they may live close enough.
Tell your Dad we all say "Hello Papa Wight." :) I'm looking forward to sharing in your vacation relaxation. (As we where unable to take a trip this summer.) Wishing you safe travels and tons of fun making new memories. Hugs....

We were watching the Texas Rangers last night and they said it was 73 degrees. Enjoy your time at home and enjoy the cooler weather. Bring us a Norther when you come home. ha

Have a great holiday and enjoy your time with your parents. Getting away together is hard when you have a managerie or farm. We have 16 love birds, 12 zebra finches, 2 dogs and a dozen gold fish but what is life without furry or feathered critters. Hugs Ann
