Shortly after finishing my springtime apron, I made another apron and I'm just getting around to sharing it -- I finally got some photos taken!
This apron is rather special, as it's made with some of my own fabric designs! I created an all-over print of Farm Girl and Tiny Tim, and then created a coordinating print with just chickens. The chicken wire print is from a line called Fanciful, if I remember correctly. The Farm Girl print is kind of a "second". I ordered the fabric from Spoonflower, and when it arrived the color in the print faded as the length of fabric continued. The black turned to a charcoal gray, and the hair on the girl (and Tiny Tim's feathers) turned from a nice brown, to almost red. I emailed them and they replaced the yardage right away with a new run. But I still had the faded print. I didn't want to have it go to waste, so I created this apron with the faded yardage.
I designed the apron pattern myself, since I couldn't really find an apron-with-an-apron, and that's the style I wanted for this particular apron. A pocket just didn't seem right, so an apron on my apron was the solution. It's a rather long apron, reaching my knees.
I really love how it turned out, but am having a hard time wearing it out to the chicken yard to gather eggs!
How adorable, Anna! Did you make it two aprons so you can gather eggs with it? I'm with you . . . it would be hard to dirty it up. Those prints are so VERY CUTE! By the way, your brown toes and polka-dotted flip-flops are darling too. :)

OMGOSH! Anna designs on fabric! YUMMM!
I saw your paper aprons in a past issue of a magazine (crap. I can't remember the name) and they were SO CUTE! But the real thing, and a twirly one to boot, is fabulous!

Where in the world do you find time to sew, as well as everything else that you do, Anna??!! This apron is just too darn adorable!

I was wondering if Spoonflower was where you had your too, too CUTE fabric made when I saw it before. As a sister maker and wearer of aprons I just love your apron with an apron design is wonderful! If I may suggest, I think your next apron should be a egg gathering apron design that allows you to meet and greet your chickens and gather eggs. I recently saw a pattern and know it will be a style I'll be wanting to use in the future and would be darling in your prints.

Wonderful Apron. I wear a apron at my job serving lunches to elementary students. I think I may have about 50 of them! Everytime I find a yard of something fun I make another!!! Friday is nearly hear, hip-hooray! Especially since the rain was gone and it was a glourius day. Hugs....

Anna, this apron is just adorable and I love the length and the double apron so if you can't find yourself wearing it out in the chicken area I can picture myself wearing it around the city of Minneapolis (chickens or no chickens). lol

I can just see you in your freckledness, twirling about the yard like a 4-year old who is admiring her flouncy Easter dress. I adore your fabric and intelligently designed apron-on-an-apron. Perfect for gathering eggs, freskly picked vegetables, etc. Clearly there is no end to your talent.
