Here's another of the get well-sicky poo-thinking of you cards I've made recently. I've had some special people in my life in need of a rest up greeting, so I made several cards to this theme last week.
The stewed chicken just cracks me up. It's a Karen Lockhart stamp, and I'm pretty sure I found it on ebay sometime last year. I chose to use some teal colored whitewashed Co'ordinations paper for the background. I stamped the chicken wire image in a nice cheery blue that matches the base color of the whitewashed paper. I also sponged some of the same blue around the edges of that layer to darken up the whitewashed edges a bit. I really like how the inked edges turned out on the paper!
It's mid weekend (if you have Monday off from work), and I hope you're having a good one! Ours has been fairly quiet, which considering the events on the farm lately, is rather nice.
I will say that I sure can tell there's a full moon... I am so very tired, and my emotions are a bit off the charts. Thankfully this evening I'm feeling much better so hopefully I'm getting back to "normal" and can look forward to a calmer rest of the month. Poor Alan puts up with so much from me... I think he deserves some fresh, homemade brownies.

Love the clean lines and fresh colors - the way you colored the pot and the chicken wire background - I suppose I love it all :)

Ooh, lucky Alan...but unlucky chicken. Super cute though-that blue is nice!!

Yes, bring on the brownies!!! :D
Sure hope you are feeling much better today...I have been riding the emotional roller coaster for years, myself. It's not fun! If I didn't have Rx drugs, I'd be in big trouble!!! (or maybe it's my family that would be in trouble! LOL) I find mine runs in cycles too, but I have never connected it to the moon...I may have to do some documentation to find out if it influences my moods! FEEL BETTER NOW!!! =)

That stamp cracks me up! Isn't something supposed to occur BEFORE the chicken gets in the pot? This one looks quite lively! Great job of watercoloring this little beauty. Love the paper colors and textures too.

Love your card!! Your coloring, especially the hammered pot, and design are fabulous! A while ago I bought some of the white-washed Coredinations but have yet to use it, so thanks for the inspiration:)

Oh my, this is just adorable!! Love the image! Did you use your tracing wheel on this one? I think I read that you used one to simulate paper piercing, but now can't find it. Anyway, it looks awesome!

Hi Anna! I have been thinking of you and your little traumatized animals in the barnyard. Hope everyone is on the mend, especially your hearts. I love this card! The chicken wire background is just too cute, where did it come from?

I am curious to where you found a chicken wire background? THe image is also fantastic, so cute so funny.
I have you in my google reader, I don't leave comments often, but I think your blog is one of the best I read! I like that you have farm life, real life and crafty stuff, keeps it fresh!

Was thinking about you the other day...mom adopted a 2 1/2 week old baby donkey who lost his mama. She's trying to get cranky Thelma to nurse him...she's doing it, but SOOOO not happy about it! lol

I love the card. I am sure the chicken is just 'flavoring' the stew! :-)
I think everyone is a little wacky right now due to the change of seasons -- we have had two weekend days of good rain. Great for the earth, nasty for the poor campers in this state. It is screaming "FALL" outside right now.
And what fun is 'normal' any ways? Boring I say! Life is much funner when you 'shake the bee's nest and run'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great weekend, Manetta
