I was just going through the card images on my camera and realized I haven't shared this project yet. About time I did...but quickly, 'cause it's bed time for me. **yawn**
The image, North Woods Stack, is stamped on kraft colored cardstock in black Memento ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I used Gamsol and a paper stump to blend the colors. I used a white gel pen to add white highlights to some areas. Pretty simple!
If you would like more info on this technique, I have a short Prismacolor & Gamsol tutorial on my Tips & Tricks page. The images in the post have been replaced with links (THANKS to Typepad - groan), but if you click the links the images will display.
I wrote the tutorial almost 3 years ago, and it remains one of my most popular blog pages. It's worth noting that Memento ink was not available at the time I wrote the tutorial. Now, I mostly use Memento ink with this technique, although StazOn does work nicely. You just need to be careful with StazOn, as it can bleed.
Yeehaw!
Oooh, reminds me of a needlepoint picture I'd made some years ago based on the Bremen Town Musicians (sp?!) ... I should start a side blog for needlework, LOL!

Is this ever cute! And your Santa is one sexy dude!! Was at the family reunion and my Mom's cousin Ruth was here from TX. Got my hug and a complaint about the heat down there and the fact that she packed shorts to wear up here and, so far, they were still in the suitcase. It's one crazy summer, but I'm glad to see that it hasn't affected your creativity one bit. Mine's been hit & miss and I prefer Versafine Ink with my prismas & odorless mineral spirits. Stay Cool!

Super cute! You rock with whatever coloring medium you use! And those highlights . . . sigh! For what it's worth, I use Ancient Page Coal Black for Prisma pencils, Memento Tuxedo Black for Copic markers, and StazOn Jet Black for watercoloring and never have any troubles with the black ink smearing.

Well! I live in the Northwoods and have never seen anthing like this. If I could get the moose to stand still and the bear to leave the picnic basket alone, The beavers are afraid of heights. The local geese are just to upity for trick shots so I'm amazed you could make it happen! Love, Dad

OMGosh, that image is absolutely awesome! Such a nice alternative to the cow/pig/sheep/chicken stack that is typically seen. And of course, colored fabulously! The deep, rich tones and shading are perfect!
