I recently sold off some of the retired Stampin' Up sets I haven't shown enough love to, and thought I would look for some of the even OLDER sets that I've wanted for some time. Quilted Quotes, from 2001, has been on my wish list for some time, and I was lucky enough to find it on ebay last week -- unused, even! I broke it out tonight... it's delightful!
What are some of your favorite oldies but goodie sets?
By the way, if anyone has spare old Stampin' Up catalogs they would like to pass on, I'd give them a good home! And I'll pay shipping! I'm interested in 1995 or earlier, as well as 1997-1998, 1998-1999, 1999-2000. (This list has been updated since originally posted.) I only want 1 of each year, so please don't expect me to take BOXES of them off your hands. *grin*
Another recent ebay purchase I made is a pair of old Wiss pinking shears. They came in their original box. I used them on this card! They're old, they're heavy, and the best part...they were made in the USA. They're perfect!

I'm really loving your card - you always do such beautiful work!

I see some of my favorite stamp sets already listed. :) I still love Walk This Way, Roosting, Love Is a Circle, Calm Seas, and Sun-Ripened. This is such a sweet card! I like how you made it look vintage-y and homey with the fabric, the pink shears, the distressing and inking. P.S. I have a pair of heavy LEFT-HANDED pinking shears, and I LOVE cutting with them!

PLEASE take them off my hands! LOL I also have the 01-02 catalog (and 2000-02 but has a label peeled off the front) and I have LOADS of Mini Catalogs if you want any (a couple from 02-03 and TONS from 03 to current. Email me at stampersim@yahoo.com if interested.

I don't even remember this set! Ü You made a lovely card with it! Is the floral piece fabric?

This is beautiful, Anna! I love that ol'timey dsp you used. I don't have any favorite "oldies" because I haven't been stamping all that long, but this one you have is definitely a winner...

Safari, Funky Favorites, Rooster and Hedgehog Happiness are a few of my treasures. What a great idea to get them out and give them some love!
Your card is delish! And, as the saying goes: great minds think alike. I was just about to pink the edges of the mat for my next card. It occurred to me last night when I was sewing on my latest card.
Hope you're staying relatively cool. I'm loathe to venture too far away from the a/c during the day.

I no longer use my grandmothers pinking shears for dress making, time to put them to work in the card making!
I can never seem to part with any old sets! Soft as a feather, mini watercolor gardens, polkadot posies , too many to list :) hehe.
Enjoy your new treasures. Happy Stamping and have a refreashing Sunday, Hugs..

Hi Anna, Neat card! Congrats on getting the set you wanted. My all time favorite SU stamp set is Wild Wild West. I am happy yo say I found it on ebay not too long after I started stamping and it sits front and center on my desk...always. It's embarrasing to say I paid a ridiculous price for it, as you might image, but it's worth it to me. I LOVE the cards you have made using it. Actually, I just love almost everything you do. Thanks for always being an inspiration!

Hey Anna after reading your post I checked my stash for some catalogs. To my surprise, I have two of the three catalogs you were hoping to find. I have the 2000-2001 and the 2001-2002. Are you interested? Let me know,
Chris

Here are some of my favs that I still have and love:
I don't know the names of these three but the first one is the first SU set I bought and is dated 1990. It is a 4-piece set with a front-loader, a dump truck, a steam shovel and a pile of dirt that says "Boys at Work".
Next is a 8-piece set from 1999 and the images are a dove, a lamb, a Bible, the Fish, lamb with lion, two children on their knees praying, praying hands and a cross.
A 13-piece set of boys images from 2002.
I also love these sets:
It's Snow Time - 2004
Nice and Easy Notes - 1996
And Everything Nice - 2005
Fantastic Foliage - 1998
Terrific Tulips - 2001
Toile Blossoms - 2002
From the Heart - 1999
Friendships Grow - 1999
Roses in Winter - 2004
Petal Prints - 2004
Spring Garden - 2003
Mini-Medleys - 1999
Noteworthy - 2006
Lovely as a Tree - 2001
A Light Unto my Path - no date on it but it is within the last two years.
I'm sure that's more than you wanted to know and I still have drawers more. Totally love your card - such a warm, "homey" feel to it.
