I've been illustrating for Whipper Snapper for nearly three years now -- I can't believe it! My designs are mostly whimsical illustrations done in a line art style ... until now!
With the upcoming January single image Spring/Summer release, Whipper Snapper will be releasing five stamps in a completely different style for me! And I am so excited!
I've created a series of western themed images using various photographs I've taken as a starting point for the designs. Incorporating both my photography and my illustration into one art form that I get to share with others is the icing on my cupcake!
Because the images are more of a silhouette style rather than line art, they lend themselves nicely to all kinds of stamping techniques. Here's a sneak peek for you at one of the images being released.
The image was stamped in black on a kraft colored cardstock and various brown inks were added around the edges.
I'm curious to hear your thoughts... *grin*

LOVE IT! What a great image to play with! (Not literally, of course)!

This is one of my favorite blogs and your one of my favorite artist and I love seeing the farm anials pictures, however the cutsie style is not my style and I am super excited to see your artwork and Whipper Snapper both go in a direction that I am totally stocked about. I have bought several WS stamps, but mostly to stamp for things for myself, DH or the pets. So I am all for a new line and type of stamps! Gosh , I could go to your photograpy page and pick several pictures of the animals, mostly cats and someflowers and just turn those into stamps, they would be beautiful!

This is what I have been waiting for. . .western themed. I can't wait to see your other images. My daughter and son in law live in Dallas and he is everybit the cowboy. This will definitely be a perfect card for him.

Oh Anna! I am just squirming in my seat right now!! I am so oober excited to see you doing Western Images. As a Colorado horse family, I am constantly on the look out for western images. Until now my all time fav has been SU's Wild Wild West. Looking at this sneak peek, that just might change! I can't wait to get my hands on this image and I am sure many others in the release too. Once again, you're the absolute bestest!
Posted by: Darlene Pinder | January 17, 2009 at 06:25 AM
Having been born in the west (Az) I was never a fan of western decor. Not even in my cards. However, this one will make me change my mind. It will make a great masculine card. tfs and then just thanks for you..

Well my dear, I think it is safe to say, especially after reading many of the comments, that you've captured a very appealing male form, that all us Ladies would like to have in rubber :)
I'm blown away by how you make the outline and background of this card resemble aged leather, instead of your everyday basic CS.
But now the question that is looming in all our minds ..... **WHO IS THIS HUBBA HUBBA YUMMY COWBOY**? And does he wear Levis and Chaps together? [pant pant][drool drool][tongue hanging out lol] Ohh my, I need to go lie down as I think I'm having a hot flash!!!!! heheheeeeee Beautiful card Anna.

Looks like the Marlboro Man...what a beautiful card...Anna, I'm so proud of you. What talent! I'm getting a lot of ideas from your cards...you inspire me!!! I'm still looking for just those right ice/snow crystals you used on your beautiful snowflakes...can't find anything coarse like that. Oh, well, keep looking. Maybe I'll find them in the SUMMER. If we ever have one. A lot of our snow has melted, but it's been cold and foggy, thus freezing on the roads...not good. We'll get more snow, though. I'm glad you got to experience it again this winter. I love the pictures of your turkey snow angels!! Keep up the wonderful work...Love from frosty Idaho, Jeanne xoxoxo

Posted by: Monica | January 16, 2009 at 09:00 PM
Wowza! I love it. There's something about silhouette style stamps that leave something to the imagination...which I guess is obvious since you can't see every detail, but that's what I like about them. You nailed this one dead on. You did this stamp justice with this card. I love it on kraft paper with the various brown inks. It makes it kinda dirty like the Wild West. Love your spin on this and just about everything you do. Awesome! Can't say enough, well I guess I did. Bye!
