For the past couple of days, Mom, Aunt Patty and I have been busy being crafty. When I came up from Texas, I brought some of my crystal snowflake supplies, and we've been having a great time making all kinds of snowflakes and chipboard ornaments! Here are a few of the projects we've finished (we've made about 50 ornaments, so this is just a small sampling)...
Mom glittered up several punched snowflakes, along with a painted wooden snowflake when she made this one. She used white crochet thread and a cute little metal button for the center.
Aunt Patty chose fresh colors for this snowflake. It's so pretty in peach, light turquoise and yellow! And would you just LOOK at all those sparkles!
I covered this chipboard star with patterned paper and added some faux stitches around the edges. I added a tin heart with a small brown button for decoration.
Mom made this large SPARKLY snowflake using a wooden snowflake and more paper snowflakes covered with lots of sparkly glitter. She used a pearl brad in the center - so CUTE!
Patty sanded off the edges of her wooden snowflake and added distressing inks to really darken up the wood. She used pretty gold embroidery thread to tie on a button center.
One of the ornaments I purchased earlier this month at Target was this little pair of wood skates. They were so plain, so I took them apart and added sparkly glass glitter and replaced the lacings with nicer twine. I love the little rusty bells, which were already part of the original skates.
The last ornament I'll share on this post is this little tin heart ornament I made. I covered a small chipboard star with patterned paper, added some buttons and hemp twine to finish it off.
And there are so MANY more to show ... stay tuned!! *grin*

The ornaments turned out beautiful! I really love the skates. Thanks for sharing! Glad you made it home safely.

I wish I could play with you, your mom, and your aunt. I did make some snowflakes, shamelessly copying yours and they are beautiful, Thanks. I live in FL and your snow pics make me wish I were back north but just for 1 wk. of snow then I sure I'd be ready for sun. Now I have to make more snowflakes and use colors other than white.

Beautiful ornaments by everyone!! You all appear to be happy and cozy in your snow Wight world.
Anna, you inspired me to make glittery snowflakes for my Christmas gifts. I used what I had on hand which was the Spellbinders' snowflakes and several snowflake punches. I think they came out beautiful:) Thanks for sharing and the inspiration you give me!

I would LOVE to be snowed in with you all and crafting! Ü As I was putting things away, I was wondering what I could make for Valentines day that has the look of shabby chicness that these snowflakes do. Haven't thought of anything yet, but you have inspired me to try.
Can't wait to see what else you all have made.

Oh, Anna - I really, really want some of that crystal snowflake stuff, and ever since I saw your first snowflake, I have looked for it at Michael's and the closest I could come was the punch (the smallest one you have on the top layer), and regular SU glitter....I punched the snowflakes in different colors, painted them with glitter nail posish, and sprinkled dazzling diamonds on while tacky...they look pretty nice, but I still LOVE that layered look you have. We had rain all night and on top of the new foot of snow we got yesterday has made a perfect MESS here in N. Idaho! How about you there in Newport? Same thing, most likely. Well, sounds like you are having so much fun with Mom and your sister...what a lovely vacation. I'll bet your man and all your babies will be happy to see you come home...take care. Love, Jeanne H
