Fall weather always makes me want to cozy up, and I think that's showing in my crafty projects lately too! Though I must admit, Texas fall weather this year is leaving LITTLE to be desired! Our temps are still in the 80s, and honestly, it sucks.
Fall has always been my favorite season -- a long deserved break from the summer heat. But not here. The heat of summer seems to linger. Forever. Ugh.
So while I dream of cooler weather, it only makes sense to play with snowflakes!
You should have seen me working on this card... the heat from my table lamps warm my room to what seems like 100 degrees. The breeze (whirl wind) of the ceiling fan on HIGH scattered glitter and "diamond dust" all over me and my table. But I was determined to make a glitzy snowflake.
Success!
I used a Marvy snowflake punch (the blue one) and punched out two snowflakes -- a natural colored one, and a brown one. I inked the edges of both. Then I added matte finish Accents by Ranger to the natural colored snowflake and poured Diamond Dust glitter over the Accents (which acts as a glue). I let the snowflake sit for a bit under the pile of glitter and then carefully picked it out of the pile and shook off the excess shards of glitter. To adhere the button, I used a dot of the same matte finish Accents and set it aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.
The sentiment 'peace on earth' is from North Pole Post, one of my October Whipper Snapper unmounted sets. It's stamped on the same natural colored paper, but is inked with brown inks to make it a much darker looking paper.
The polka dot paper is by Bo Bunny -- have you seen their color palette of polka dot paper?! Heavenly! The printed tree paper is by My Mind's Eye. Love it! I can't believe I'm not hoarding it! (...or maybe I am...) *grin*
Ooh, this sparkly snowflake is divine! The dp is fantastic too-great card!

Im with you Anna... the unrelenting heat here in So Cal is depressing. I know people move here because of the weather, but I miss having actual seasons. We had, like, 5 minutes of rain this past weekend, and I was over the moon! Now were back in the 80s with no end in sight. Im thinking about putting my coat on and visiting one of those walk-in freezers somewhere. Ive had the same coat for years because it never wears out! Hang in there, my friend. Ill celebrate with you when cooler weather finally comes to CA and TX!
