I got crafty! Last night (late!) I was feeling the itch to solder, so I colored up this little apple basket image (from an old retired Stampin' Up set) and created a little magnet. Once I was done with the magnet, I decided to put together a card so I could send it as a gift. Some of my stampin' friends have done similar soldering projects, and they're just so stinkin' CUTE I had to do it myself! Thanks for the inspiration Cindy, Mish, Ellen, Debbie, Sharon...
I found this picnic tablecloth paper in my stash and thought it was pretty cute for a simple little card featuring the apple basket. I added some flourishes and a sentiment, did some faux stitching and inked the edges of the paper.
On the backside of the soldered piece is a round magnet glued to the glass with E6000. I used another magnet piece on the card to hold the magnet in place.
I'm so glad we're having a holiday weekend! Growing up, labor day weekend usually involved a family BBQ and either a couple of days spent at the lake, or we had family visit the house. My Dad's birthday is September 5th, so we usually celebrated his birthday as well. As an adult, I appreciate the three-day weekend. I don't even mind not having plans. Staying home and making it a day of relaxation is just fine with me. Now, if only it weren't quite so HOT...
Hope you and your families are having a wonderful weekend!
Anna, it's SO beautiful, as well as beautifully soldered! :-) Love the tablecloth pattern. It all exudes nostalgia and warmth.

Ok, no way am I taking up soldering! If I bring home one more craft thing, I think the house will collapse! But yours is incredibly cute! And aren't you smart to think of putting a magnet inside??????? I would have glued it on and wrecked the card!
You really should run up to Nebraska. It is FIFTY-FOUR degrees here (at 4:01 p.m.) and we have DRIZZLE!!!! woo hoo!!!!!!!
