Good GRIEF it's hot. Today's high on the thermometer was 105...and the thermometer is in the shade! Thankfully, I had a fresh idea for how to beat the heat.
If you have a Taco Bell in your area, you've got to try one of the Strawberry Mango Freeze drinks they're serving right now. Yummmmmy!! While my Mom and Dad were visiting, we had SEVERAL of these drinks -- they're delish! So good in fact, Mom had the great idea of making our own version of the slushy drinks (Taco Bell is a long way from our house).
My parents gave Alan and I a Cuisinart soft serve ice cream maker when they were here visiting. I used the machine for this recipe. Mix 3.5 cups of mango juice (juice isle of your local grocery store) with 1/2 a can of frozen orange juice concentrate (no water). Mix well and pour into the ice cream maker. In about 12 minutes you're left with a wonderfully fresh, fruity treat! Add a bit of thawed strawberries (and their juice) to the top, and enjoy!
Let's hope it's a bit cooler here tomorrow!

Yay, it's nice to finally find something to make with MY Cuisinart ice cream maker, LOL! ;-) This looks delish, Anna!

Guess what I'm drinking right now? I went to Taco Bell just because you said I had to :) This drink is really yummy!! You may have created a monster -- I've been craving mangos lately and this is doing the trick!

OK that soft serve ice cream maker is WAY cool. We have a Cuisinart ice cream maker (the bowl style one) and use it ALL THE TIME. I haven't tried making drinks yet - but maybe this week!
And an FYI - yesterday we hit a high of about 62ºF. :) Wanna trade places for about a week?

Wow that looks yummy! We just got some rain tonight, I hope it reached your place. It's so humid that one of your slushies looks VERY refreshing. Wish I could make one. Will look for the ingredients for my Vita Mixer, which should do the trick. Your photo is so good that I nearly licked the screen! Yikes, I'm parched...

YUM!!!! Thanks for the recipe. Good for ya and good to cool ya. We're having a pretty mild summer for Okla. Haven't hit 100 yet so I'm not complaining....but the summer is still young.

mid 90's is going to be hot enough. This sounds yummy! I think I'll stop at the store tomorrow to get mango juice when we go pick up my son!

Sheesh, that will make our muggy 84F seem like a cool summer day! At you least you have something like this to look forward to on your visit to WI (of course, I complain on these days)!

Now that sounds delish -- And the pic doesn't hurt any either. I think I need to try that.
Oh, Anna, I hope to see you in Milwaukee (well, Brookfield) next Sunday.
