I've been playing with some of the new Crafty Secrets clear art stamps that were previewed at CHA in February. This is one of the cards I finished this week. Another clean and simple card.
I guess I don't have a lot of desire to add lots of doo-dads to my cards lately. A couple of layers, some pretty ribbon, a fun image, and I'm happy! I'm sure that will change though...things usually do!
For this card I stamped the image (and sentiment) in black StazOn ink and colored it with a water brush and Stampin' Up reinkers. I used designer paper (ooooooh, so pretty designer paper) by K&Company. Love this stuff! The ribbon is from Stampin' Up!
I added some fine silver Spica glitter pen to the corners of the story book, to give the corners a hint of "metal" shine. I also added a touch of gold Spica glitter pen to the pages of the top book in the pile of books he's sitting on. I have always loved how the edges of some old books are accented with gold or silver. They're so pretty!
Can you believe it's Wednesday, already!? Jeez! Where do the days go... but, I'm grateful that it's almost time for another weekend!
Anna, what a lovely vintage image, and such perfect coloring and layout!

'sweet and simple' HA!!! Sweet....YES, simple????? No way could I "simply" make a card look like that! I love it though! Ü Your watercoloring is superb!!!!

This is so... cute and the coloring is beautiful! I've been saying lately "simple does not mean easy." Sometimes it takes just as long to get a simple card to my liking as it does a more complex one. Can't wait 'til those new CS stamps are available to the rest of us (I prefer to order them through you e-shop)!

What a fabulous stamp and I love what you have done with it. I don't believe you need to do too much else to a card with a great image, I like the clean look. I have just received your stamp set from whippersnapper (signed and all, thank you) and I can not wait to play.
cheers

Anna, this is definitely for me! I am a HUGE reader! We actually have TWO libraries in our house -- built in shelves and all! I have very few pictures of my childhood, but I do have one of me as a toddler READING! Thanks for letting me know about this set! And Oh, I really like your card too! In case you need someone to send it to, I was a redhead -- before I went "off the bottle" as some of us say! :0 Love, mary

OH NO! More great new stamps I had no clue about until I stopped here. Can you say "bad influence"? LOVE that little lobster grabber and this story time is so vintage. With or without a lot of doodads, your stuff is great, especially your photography. So glad you share.

Oh I really love this little guy! I'm not much of a reader but it reminds me of my little ones with their big books. I too love the look of a book with the gold and silver edges. Nicely done.
