This week's Blogger's Challenge Friday theme is a color challenge. We were to use Blue Bayou, Real Red, and River Rock.
I played with various layouts using colored cardstock and decided I wasn't diggin' the color combination in paper. I decided to use the colors of ink instead.
Oddly enough, it snowed here this morning (not enough to stick), so I thought it might be appropriate to use Pudgy!
I stamped Pudgy on a white Fabriano note card (thank you, Vivian!) with black Stazon ink. I used a water brush to paint Pudgy with Stampin' Up reinkers in the three colors for this challenge: Blue Bayou, Real Red, and River Rock. Because I do so love things that sparkle and shine, I brushed a bit of white Pearl-Ex over the entire card. It's just enough to give it a nice "chilly" feeling without using glitter.
While I think the other Blogger's Challenge projects look great this week (most of them used paper combinations),this is what worked for me. Easy Peasy!
You'll find a list of other Blogger's Challenge players here.
If you would like to take this challenge and make your own project using the colors given, leave a comment here and provide a link. I'd love to see your stuff!
The simplicity of this card is wonderful. How neat that you just used the color scheme for water coloring your image. Which by the way is adorable!

I love Pudgy so much! He is perfect in a setting of all white with just the hints of color to make him pop.

How adorable is he? Who says "pudgy" can't be beautiful???? The simplicity is great and the colouring stunning as usual. 2 questions though (perhaps you can put it in a later post)... How do you colour with reinkers- do you just drop some on the ink pad lid/plate and pick it up with a brush dipped in water or aquapainter? And, you said you went over the whole card with Pearl ex. IS that with the powder? Did you mix it with something first to make it stick to the paper?
Thanks! Diane

it is gorgeous!!! It is so nice to see other people doing simple cards every once in a while, too. I have loved making simple cards lately and I felt like I almost had to apologize for them as it always feels like people like to see layered cards. I really really love white cards that have a really lovely, well coloured image.
