There was a challenge on SplitCoastStampers today that had us making a snowflake card using neutral colors (like browns), and one other color for accent. I chose sage for my accent color.
The stamps I used are all by BasicGrey. I had to give their new sets a try. Wow... I'm impressed! I thought they'd be low-quality acrylic and not take inks well, but I was wrong! They're fantastic! I used a variety of inks, and every one of them stamped perfectly! I'm looking forward to more of their sets, as they always have paper designs that knock my socks off!
The two sets I used on this card were Santa Baby and North Pole. They also have a third set called Winterland, but I didn't use it today. All of these sets were made to coordinate with their Figgy Pudding line (I used some of the patterned paper on my Pudgy card yesterday!), but they're wonderful sets used on their own or with other products.
The sage snowflake patterned paper I used on the base of the card by Cosmo Cricket coordinated perfectly with some Martha Stewart ribbon I found in my ribbon drawer. Yay for Martha ribbon!
Speaking of Martha, yesterday there was a Martha Stewart Crafts marathon on DIY (at least I think it was on DIY). I recorded it all and can't wait to spend some quality time with Martha. Wonder what I'll learn...
This is so stunningly beautiful, Anna! I'd love to know your secret for tying the double bow so perfectly!!!

This is an awesome card. When I first read about the challenge, the picture of the card, was still loading and I said to myself, How is she going to pull that off? Well, I should have know that you would and wonderfully at that! I would have never thought that snowflakes would look good in a brown shade but they do. I love the antique feel to it. I love those BG stamps. I am going to have to check those out. Thanks for sharing your talen with us! Have a great day!

I love this card. I've always been partial to browns (earthtones) and this card is fabulous. I especially like how you sponged the darker browns around the focal images.
I caught all of the Marth marathon and I really enjoyed some of her projects. She really loves the glitter...a woman after my own heart. :)
