Thank you to EVERYONE who sent me emails and left comments here and on SplitCoast wishing me a happy birthday! It was a fun day! From this photo you might have guessed that I drove a tractor today! And you'd be RIGHT! I took this photo as I drove around the farm.
Last week, Alan bought a tractor (on ebay...grin), and today we went to pick it up. We drove a couple of hours south of where we live to get it. For those of you who know a little something about tractors, it's a 420 John Deere that was built in something like 1955 or so (Alan would know). That's all I know. Oh, and I know how to drive it.
When we got home late this afternoon, I got to back it off the trailer (WHOA, FUN!) and took it for a spin around the back yard. It's very cute, and very fun, and I know my friends and family are going to be envious.

I'm sorry that I did not get to wish you a happy B-Day, but I was on a Fishing trip to Montana for 10 days! Mostly out of cel range. The fish were huge and the scenery was spectacular! Happy Birthday! #16 I think

Hi Anna, Hope you got my funny store purchased card . I am surprised that Alan would let you back it off the trailer. Do you remember when Marty let you drive the lawnmower and you ran into the back of his Scout. (Forgot that it had brakes?) i LOVED reading all your birthday wishes.

OK, so I missed your bday -- I wait for my updates! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY; I'm not really much of a tractor chick, so no tractor envy here, but I do love the new Cornish Farms Kinkade release! :)

Your post makes me laugh because when you live on a farm, things that interest you are SO different than those that live in the city!!! My family as well as my in-laws CANNOT understand the excitement when we get a new tractor or attachment but anything to make life easier, is REALLY exciting! My husband insists that I need one of those Zero-turn mowers and I insist that I don't need one because I wouldn't be able to drink a beer while mowing if I had to use 2 hands to steer! My husband got a tiller attachment for his John Deere (he plants food plots for wildlife management) and oh my gosh, the neighbors (all 3 of them! We live on 200 acres so there aren't many of them!) were so envious!
I'm so glad you had a happy birthday!

Fun, fun, fun!!! My dad had an old International to mow the fields around the house but he had a small John Deere that he mowed the 3 acre yard with since it cut like a lawn mower. Once I was home visiting and I was mowing with the International and feeling like a real farm girl,,,and somehow let the big mower catch hold of a baby dogwood tree. Crunch. It was the pink one....! I went in to tell daddy that accidentally cught one of the dogwood's under the mower and he said " please tell me it wasn't one of the pink ones". Boo hoo! I had to confess. The pink ones are just more expensive to buy and he had planted several around the borders of the yard..both pink and white. You might know I could screw it up. Fond memories of being home and with my parents. I have lost them both. I don't know why I had to tell you this story but your tractor picture took my down memory lane. I'm glad you had a wonderful birthday.

That is the coolest thing! I love that you all love antiques! Did you park it beside the fire truck??? I grew up driving a '50s Ford 8N, and my Dad still has it...we call her "Old Faithful"! Gotta love the old tractors...So happy you had a fun day! (hope the tractor wasn't your gift though! haha) :)
