Cornish Heritage Farms is getting ready for a second release of Thomas Kinkade images -- ooooh, they're FUN!
This image is called Light of Peace, and is part of the upcoming image release. I really wanted to work the inks on this stamp to get it to really pop like a nice black and white photo, or like something you'd see on an old travel postcard that hasn't yellowed over time. I found that Black Stazon was my favorite ink for this look - it had the crispest lay down of color.
With a somewhat dry ink pad (one that's almost ready for re-inking) I applied a light application of ink to areas I wanted to recede. Then with an inkier pad, I added a heavier application of ink only to areas I wanted to be really pronounced. I stamped the image on white cardstock, and then used a small black alcohol marker to further enhance the darkest areas of the image. I matted the image with black cardstock, and then a layer of white cardstock, and then matted it with scalloped black cardstock by Bazzill. The card base is a Neenah paper in white linen. The black and white ribbon is from Michael's.
What I love most about the Thomas Kinkade images is how great they look stamped very simply, in solid colors. They don't need a lot of extra coloring or enhancing to create a "wow" card.
I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of info about this release on the Cornish Heritage Farms site soon... stay tuned!
Be still my heart! What a gorgeous image and fantastic use of it with your inking technique. Wow!

This is the one I will be getting! I can't wait. This is stunning...I love how you did the light and dark in the same color.

I am not much of a Kincade fan as it seemed in the last few years, it was overkill at times with his stuff. But this is one stamp I will get. I love lighthouses and can imagine a ton of ideas with this image. I also love the black and white style you created. Perfect.

Happy, Happy Birthday to you!!! This black and white card is fabulous! I can't imagine the precision in trying to ink up the stamp with juicy and not so juicy ink pads...your talents are amazing. Hope you have a wonderful day!

I just ordered my first Thomas Kinkade stamp and can't wait for it to come in....I love the no-coloring, one-ink stamping look that they give. I can't wait to try mine...your new one looks just like a photo...I hope that I can "do" the same with mine!

I haven't purchased any of the Kinkade stamps yet but am getting ready to try them. I especially love this Light of Peace and your black and white is gorgeous. Great hint on using lighter and heavier layers of ink. I wonder if you can sponge on heavier ink on a stamp with a dauber??? Hmmm!
