Kim over at My Favorite Things has been crazy busy getting ready for another stamp release. One of the sets releasing on Monday is called It's a Jungle Out There. This little lion is from that set.
I think this set would be great for projects for little boys. There are critters and leaves, an animal-watcher (isn't that what they call people who watch animals with binoculars?), and a few other odds and ends.
The sentiment "meow" on this card is not from the stamp set, though. Instead, I printed the word on white cardstock using my computer and printer, and then designed my stamped image layer around the printed word.
For the matted layers, I used my paper pinking shears to cut the points on the bottom layer, and because I can NEVER get my corners to look good when I use decorative scissors, I opted to add some black photo corners to "hide" the odd looking points at the very corners. Works like a charm every time! Some quick sponging around the edges with Walnut Distress ink by Ranger took the "shine" off the white paper.
