A couple of weeks ago I posted a photo of a primitive doll I've been working on. Last week she got her smile, and tonight she finally got her hair!
Her hair is washed and dyed sheep's wool. I used a felting needle to attach the wool to her head. It worked like a charm! No sewing, no glue! Isn't she a cutie!
I still need to make her a chicken friend, sew some details on her dress and make her some pantaloons. Maybe I'll get to those next weekend.
You can read my first post about her here.
Gorgeous hair and what an adorable smile! She is such a sweet doll. Ida

Oh, she's wonderful with red hair! She sure is a lot cuter than the 'uglydolls' I made this weelkend ;o) - (you can see them in my blog if you wish).

I LOVE her and especially her hair!!! You gave her a GREAT smile!! See, it's just like a pregnancy...she's taking time to be complete. I sort of understand felting, don't you have to use wet wool, is that what you did? If you just used the needle is it attached so that it won't come out no matter how much it's pulled on?? TFS.

I love her hair! You did an excellent job! How do you attach the wool without sewing or gluing, using a felting needle? I need a lesson here. I love her little face and her dress is darling!

Her hair is just lovely. It seems to fit her very well. I feel flattered that you chose my hairstyle for her (hee)-- she looks much better with the fuzzy look than I do. The red is lovely. Can't wait to see her chicken friend. (or maybe you should make a turken friend?)
