Tomorrow morning, Alan and I are off on vacation! Finally!! And I can't WAIT! It's going to be so nice! We're flying up to Portland, Oregon and driving out to the Oregon Coast to spend a few days. We'll be staying in a little cabin, just a block from the beach. It's going to be SO nice to breathe fresh Oregon air again, and walk on the sandy beaches.
I moved to Texas in July of last year from Oregon. While there are things I like about Texas, it's nothing like Oregon. Oregon is special. In fact, the Pacific Northwest is special - everywhere feels like home to me there.
This card really has nothing to do with our vacation, but I thought I'd include it here anyway. =) This is Lena going on vacation! I used Rosie's Roadshow stamps to create this scene. And there I go again using more of that Basic Grey paper. I told you I love it, and I wasn't KIDDIN'!!
Other stamps used here include an Italian script stamp by Hero Arts, a postage stamp (also by Hero Arts?), a postage cancellation stamp by Son Light, and of course the flourish image from Baroque Motifs (Stampin' Up). This card is 5.25x5.25.
Oh, how I love this card -- Rosie's Roadshow stamps are among my favorites, and you do them justice! Great work. Lovin' the paper and the way you made all the various company's stamps work so well together. Good job!

Oh, man! Now, I'm even more homesick for Spokane and the PNW. Can't wait to see your pics. Be like your duck and take your brolly! Oregon rain is soft, though, nothing like the torrents Texas and Florida have been putting up with. Take a walk on the beach for me and have a great time.

Love, love, love the Oregon/Washington coast. I love some things about the midwest but Northwest Washington is home and so beautiful. Glad you're having a chance for this trip.

I've been liking all the cards you've been posting the last few days. This one with the duck and suitcases is just too cute!
I hope you and Alan have a WONDERFUL and relaxing vacation!
My SIL and BIL live in Hoodriver, OR. We've visited them once and I just loved it out there. We might get to take a trip back there next summer.
Have fun!

Anna
Do you think you can fit me into your suitcase, if I hurry and fly to Texas. It brought tears to my eyes when you said that "the Pacific Northwest is just special - everywhere feels like home to me. I know that exact same feeling. I grew up my whole life in Washington, I moved to IN almost 6 years ago, and Washington is still home to me. The mountains, the ocean, the trees the just all of it. I miss it so much, Home is the Pacific Northwest. I spent time in Oregon with family alot when I was growing up, so I like you feel at home anywhere in the Pacific Northwest. Have a wonderful vacation and enjoy every moment, and I so look forward to seeing some of your pictures, so that I too can get that little taste of home again!
