I spoiled my self last week and ordered a few new stamps for myself. (Shhhhh...)
This Ruffled Butterfly stamp by Stampendous was one of them. Life has been extra busy lately, and I am just now getting around to doing some of the projects that have been on my mind. I like how easy this card is to make, especially when there's just not a lot of time to spare in a day.
I stamped the butterfly onto a Fabriano notecard in Black Stazon ink. I watercolored the wings with an aquapainter and ink from my re-inkers. Once the color was dry, I added a bit of shimmer to the wings with Pearl-Ex powder and Future Floor Wax in an aquapainter *dedicated* to floor wax. (Once you use floor wax in an aquapainter, it's not good to use with water anymore.) The floor wax acts as a liquid base for the pigment powdered Pearl-Ex allowing you to just brush it on like a thin paint, and also acts as a sealer to keep the Pearl-Ex where you put it!
I wanted the butterflies to have lots of visual motion, so I added the Autumn Leaves swirls. And if it wasn't sparkly enough, I added some Stardust pen sparkles to the butterfly antenna and swirls.
Pretty, pretty.

This is very "pretty, pretty"! Love the simplicity and the light airy feel to this card. Love all your work Anna!

This is wonderful and so springy! This is very appealing to me since we had 59 inches of snow just two weeks ago where I live . Thanks for your joy and inspiration.

Very pretty and shimmery, Anna. I just bought the ruffled flower from Stampendous and you've given me some ideas on how to use it. Need to remeber to pick up some Future floor polish after work tonight.
Have a good weekend! ;0D

SUPER DUPER! I love what you've done. The colors are sooooo BEAUTIFUL! I've been trying to buy a few of the Stamppendous spring stamps including this one) since they came out; however, I've been in too much pain to go anywhere! I know I can order them on line but I treasure getting to my LSS once in a very long while even though I pay dearly the next day, LOL and TFS.
