It didn't seem right, putting the little beauty away after only one inking, so I inked her up again! But today she wears a lovely shade of celery green.
To give her a little bit of brunette sass, polka dots were added to her dress. I used my special black Copic marker for the dots. No bleeding, no feathering -- marker heaven. I also added Star Dust Stickles to the dots, and to her crown and shoes. Sparkle, girl, sparkle!
While I was putting this card together, I kept looking for the perfect patterned paper to use as the base layer. Nothing seemed to work. Either there was too much contrast in the pattern and you lost her in the overall design, or the colors were all wrong, or the "style" of the paper wasn't right (too vintagey, too springy, too geometric, etc).
I decided to see how she looked on a solid frame of color, and settled on black. It really made the girl and her sassy dress stand out as the main focal point of the card.
And what could be better than polka dot ribbon! I've got to find more of this ribbon QUICK! I used my very last piece on this card...which is why the tassles on the bow are so short - it's every last thread I had!
I'm off to do some shopping!
The polka-dots!! I LOVE the polka-dots!!! Man I gotta pull this set out to play!!
