Down in the Dumps Challenge

AnnaWightRRDumpsBlog
Earlier this week I asked stampin' friends Leigh O'Brien and Karrie Baker if they'd be up for a little Rosie's Roadshow challenge! They accepted, and even helped with choosing the theme and "rules" of our challenge. Goody for everyone!

The challenge:
 - Theme: Down in the Dumps
 - Must use Rosie's Roadshow stamps
 - No scallops. Anywhere. Seriously. No cheating...
 - Must use the color BROWN

Rosie's stamps are just so much fun to create scenes with! For this literal scene, I used the following stamps: Open Sign, Ladder, Fence, Short Grass, Bubba, and Flora. I think Bubba has had a really, REALLY rough day. But I have faith that those little red posies will cheer him up soon, and he'll be up and at'um again in no time!

The dark layer on the card is actually a really dark java/espresso colored brown cardstock I picked up a Paper Zone in Portland, Oregon last summer. The avocado/olive/pea-green colored note card is from Memory Box. But I don't know the "actual" name of the note card color. The images are stamped in black StazOn ink (I even used my Stampamajig!) and painted with a water brush and reinkers.

Be sure to check out Leigh's card, and Karrie's card today, too! They're SURE to knock your SOCKS off! Thanks for stampin' with me, girlies!

Give this card a sentiment!

AnnaWightRROneOfaKindblog This is one of those cards that could say so many things on the inside. Something like "You're one of a Kind", or "There's one in every crowd", or oh, I don't know..... how about "So many sheep, So little time...

OK...that one is baaa-aaa-aaad....haaa!!! Forgive me...

I think it'd be fun to hear what YOU think this card should say on the inside... let's hear it! Go nuts!

Stamps by the wild and CRAZY, Rosie's Roadshow, stamped in black StazOn and painted with a water brush and reinkers (my favorite medium for coloring!) The card base is a Memory Box note card, another staple in my crafty stash!

*makes me giggle*

AnnawightrrtrailerneighborsAs I was finishing this card tonight, I kept having little fits of giggles over this new Rosie's Roadshow trailer.

The first time I saw it on her site, I about fell out of my chair! I was putting an order in that day, and was able to sneak it onto the list before it was too late!

Needing a bit of a "pick me up", I reached for the trailer stamp tonight and made this card for a friend. Rosie's stamps ALWAYS make me happy!

I stamped the images in black StazOn ink, and painted the scene with a water brush and re-inkers. I adhered the matted image to a Memory Box note card using foam adhesive, then added the little sentiment banner.

Clean and Simple. And fresh, fruity colors! What's not to love?

On the Farm

Annawightrrbarnyard Funny Girl Karrie Baker and I decided to have a little Rosie's Roadshow "on the farm" stamp off.

Karrie chose the theme, and it's quite fitting not only for Rosie stamps, but for life here on the farm as well!

This is my card - a happy barn yard scene with all the critters waiting for a new baby to be born. All images by Rosie's Roadshow, stamped in black StazOn and painted with a water brush and reinkers.

Be sure to check out Karrie's wildly FUNNY on the farm creation. I *love* it!

fish were jumpin'

AnnawightrrbootfishThere's a spot on a river (they call THAT a river?!) near here that seems to be a popular fishing spot for the locals.

Occasionally, people will put in small boats like canoes, kayaks, and even belly boats (fancy innertubes used for fishing).

While the fishing there might be OK, it's not a place I would want to linger around for too long (to fish, or otherwise). And I certainly wouldn't want to eat anything that once lived in the water there.

I was thinking about that spot the other day after I read an email from my Dad (hi Dad!) that talked about the local fishing spots up north in Washington where he and Mom live. THAT's a place for fishing! Beautiful blue water, clear water, pristine water...and FISH!

With fishing on the brain, along with thoughts of the local mud hole, this card came to be. Stamps (Booker, Pole, and one Wellie) from Rosie's Roadshow. I drew the pond. I even added glitter to the water for lots of shimmer and shine!

Rosie's Roadshow = Pure joy.

Blogger's Challenge Friday: Layout

AnnawightrrspringtreeThis week's Blogger's Challenge Friday was to create a card using the layout on page 44 of the Stampin' Up catalog. It's a fun layout to use, so try your hand at it too!

I chose to use stamps by Rosie's Roadshow to create this little springy scene.

The four stamps I used to create the scene are Leif, Flower, Long Grass, and Sabine the bird.

The images are stamped in black Stazon and colored with Copic markers. The background around the scene was then watercolored with a light wash of color.

Exciting news about Rosie's Roadshow! Rosie has opened an online store! If you've had trouble finding the stamps at your local shops, you can now order them online directly from miss Rosie! Yay, Rosie!! LOVE the new shop!
